Watford FC Free Bets 2019/20

Watford are a football club based in Hertfordshire, just outside of London. They were formed in 1881, but originally under the name Watford Rovers and play their games at Vicarage Road, a 21,000-seater stadium which also hosts Rugby Union.

Watford are known by their nickname the Hornets, which is in direct relation to their kit, yellow and black. The club has not won a major trophy before, having only ever gained promotion via second place and in the playoffs, while reaching the FA Cup final twice, in 1984 and last season. Notable former players and managers include Justin Fashanu, the only footballer to be openly homosexual while still playing, though he did end up committing suicide.

Graham Taylor, who has just had a statue unveiled in his honour 18 months after his death, is a legendary manager who had two spells in charge, between 1977 and 1887 and then 1996 and 2001, after his spell as England boss. Current captain Troy Deeney is their all time top goalscorer, while Luther Blissett, another legendary figure at Watford, has made the most appearances in their history with 555 between 1976 and 1992.

Watford season predictions 2019/20

Watford’s decision to sack Marco Silva part way through the 2017/18 season was met with surprise, dismay and a whole lot of criticism. But Javi Gracia has come in and really improved things at Vicarage Road, and has so far proven himself to be the man who has stopped the sacking culture at the club, which saw three managers in as many years since their promotion back to the Premier League in 2015. The Hornets generally look up rather than down nowadays, and this season will be no different. Though they haven’t added many new faces, they already have an incredibly exciting squad, with the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Will  Hughes involved. They continue to prove people wrong every year, and this will be no different.

That said, with the money being spent by other clubs in the top half last season, the Hornets may struggle to reach those heights. They’ll certainly be up for the challenge.
