Stoke vs Tottenham preview, betting tips: Can the Potters battle to a crucial win over Spurs?
Tottenham to win to nil @ 11/10 with Coral
It is fair to say Stoke City look much better under Paul Lambert than they did under Mark Hughes, whom the Scot replaced at the helm in January, but his impact has not been good enough in terms of results. Time is running out for the Potters and they face yet another tough test, their third within a month, as Tottenham come to the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Defeat to Manchester City was deserved, but the loss at Arsenal, or at least the manner of it, certainly was not. Stoke have shown fight and a togetherness that suggests they can get out of relegation trouble, but the games are running out thick and fast, and facing Spurs right now is not ideal. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been buoyed by beating Chelsea and opening up an eight-point gap to the Blues, who lag behind in the race for Champions League qualification. Harry Kane is also returning to fitness after an ankle problem, while Stoke have conceded a hefty amount of goals to the top sides this term, including five against Spurs at Wembley earlier in the season. Lambert has worked hard to make Stoke more competitive and tougher to beat, but in truth they don’t have the quality to compete with their opponents this weekend.
Spurs have not had as good a season this term as in the last two, but they still made a real statement with their first win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 28 years on Sunday.

Stoke, meanwhile, have not won since Lambert’s first game and languish in the bottom three at the moment.
Harry Kane was a surprise inclusion on the substitutes bench against Chelsea and could start, but Toby Alderwiereld remains out.
Stoke will be without Eric Choupo-Moting for this one.
