Pep Guardiola is making sure Manchester City remain as professional as ever as they close in on their third Premier League title, and their first under his stewardship. Not that it has been in much doubt for most of the season, but City are now just four wins away from the crown, starting at Stoke on Monday night. If this season is anything to go by, they should have no problems securing the title in as quick a time as possible.

They’ve been under pressure a few times this season, but looking at their results and certainly their performances, there could be no telling of that. As Chelsea showed last Sunday in a narrow defeat, facing City is more about damage limitation than an attempt to win. Paul Lambert has made Stoke tougher to beat than under Mark Hughes, who lost 7-2 at the Etihad in September, and he will most likely look to keep his side’s already poor goal difference down. Currently in the bottom three, the Potters are among the favourites to get relegated in May, but this is not one of the games Lambert will have targeted for points. They’ll sit men behind the ball just like everyone else, but City are so used to that now that they will find a way. It may not be a classic but it will most likely end in an away win.

City have continued to blow everyone who they have faced away this season and that hasn’t changed. They sit 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Stoke have picked up a fair few draws in recent weeks, but are without a win in six games.
