Lingfield Park is all set for a superb afternoon of racing on Good Friday with a host of the season’s leading All-Weather performers featuring among the entries for the cool £1.1 million All-Weather Championships Finals Day, the third year of the highly lucrative event.

Along with the bet365 Good Friday race-card at Wolverhampton, which is worth £156,000, March 25th looks set to be the best day of All-Weather racing ever hosted in Great Britain.

Grendisar has proven to be one of the stars of the 2015/2016 All-Weather Championships and he heads 10 contenders for the £200,000 Coral Easter Classic at 3.45pm. He’ll be many people’s idea of the banker of the day and is trading at 5/4.

The £150,000 Ladbrokes All-Weather Mile Championships at 3.15pm has 12 horses declared to post, including all four Fast-Track Qualifier winners – Mister Universe, Captain Cat, who won the inaugural Ladbrokes All-Weather Mile Championships in 2014, Big Baz and Irish raider Captain Joy who will be ridden by Pat Smullen.

Mindurownbusiness could only finish ninth in last year’s race but the five-year-old has been successful on three of his four starts this season, while Sovereign Debt, who was beaten a neck by Grey Mirage 12 months ago, may aim to go one place better. The aforementioned Mindurownbusiness perhaps has the most pressing claims on recent form.

Earlier in the day at 2.10pm, twelve speedsters are set for the six-furlong £150,000 Unibet All-Weather Sprint, where Lancelot Du Lac bids to justify favouritism at 9/4 having broke the five-furlong course record at Chelmsford City when readily beating German challenger Gamgoom in a Fast-Track Qualifier at the start of January.

The William Haggas trained Cold As Ice is expected to prove too hot in the opening Fillies’ & Mares Championships Conditions Stakes at 1.40pm, while racing fans are advised to keep a close eye on Gracious John in the later Unibet 3 Year Old Sprint All-Weather Championships Conditions Stakes at 4.15pm. This is going to be an epic day of top all-weather horse racing action on the Polytrack.

  • 1.40pm – COLD AS ICE
  • 2.10pm – LANCELOT DU LAC
  • 3.45pm – GRENDISAR (Nap)
  • 4.15pm – GRACIOUS JOHN
