David Moyes was on cloud nine before a defeat to Swansea brought him crashing back down to earth at the weekend. It also sent Sunderland crashing to the bottom of the table. The Black Cats had a bit of (much needed) luck in recent weeks but it ran out in Wales. Will it return for the visit of the league leaders? No way. It could be harsher than an Andy Tate rant for Moyesey.
Chelsea are chasing their tenth Premier League victory in a row on Wednesday night. Diego Costa was their saviour once again on Sunday when he got the winner against a stubborn West Brom side. The forward has been in unbelievable form and we wouldn’t bet against him filling his boots against Sunderland. Eden Hazard could also get his name on the scoresheet.
With no European action to distract them from their title aspirations, Chelsea are flying. Antonio Conte has his side winning with relatively attractive football. Hazard and Pedro lead a supporting cast of hungry, motivated stars who have overcome top opposition in recent weeks.
Antonio Conte’s side won’t take three points for granted. Sunderland are in the mire and desperate to escape. With a possible points sanction coming their way, Chelsea won’t want to let up, keeping momentum going with a win here. With title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool also playing away, this could be a set of games that sees them widen the gap.
