  • Double – Carolina Panthers (NFC South) & Seattle Seahawks (NFC West) at 7/2 with Coral

The first two weeks of the NFL preseason is little more than a sparring session, ahead of the serious business to come where the 32 NFL franchises bid to become the 16 teams who reach in the NFL play-offs for 2017.
Many of the NFL betting markets for the upcoming 2017/18 NFL season have a very open look, with not much to choose between the NFC and AFC sides of the equation.

Here we take a quick look at some of the latest NFL odds and try to highlight some value plays in advance of the season ahead, which all kicks off on 7th September 2017 with the defending champions New England Patriots taking on Kansas City Chiefs at  the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

New England Patriots are the overwhelming favourites to come through AFC East division, trading at odds of just 1/10 (1.10).

The AFC North looks a much more open contest, where the Pittsburgh Steelers are the clear favourites at 4/6 (1.67), with the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens vying for for second favouritism between odds of 11/4 (2.75) and 10/3 (4.33) depending on which online bookmaker you use.

The AFC West is home to another power trio of significant contenders for the season ahead, as last season’s finalists the Kansas City Chiefs seek a solid start, but the Oakland Raiders also look ideally poised for a big say in the fight for a playoff spot.

Those two teams are difficult to split in the NFL betting lines, and even though the Raiders have been lacking in defence during the preseason, Jack Del Rio’s side can move on from a 24-21 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and make the last 16 playoffs.

Over in the NFC betting, the Dallas Cowboys are high in the list of hopefuls to make the cut. Four of the five games they play during the key month of November will be at home which bodes well and is certainly a point in time to expect a surge in the standings.

At odds of 6/1 (7.00) with bet365 and others to win their Conference, the Cowboys sit just a point behind Green Day Packers and Seattle Seahawks in the NFL Conference winner betting markets.

The New York Giants are a big looking 12/1 (13.00) at SunBets to win the NFC and if ‘Big Blue’ can build some momentum without losing touch (four of their first six assignments are on the road), they could be in a position to rally late.

NFC South and West can go the way of Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks at odds of 9/4 (3.25) and 2/5 (1.50) respectively – a double bet on these two teams will pay around £45 for a £10 stake (7/2) with the Coral Sportsbook and appears to be a pretty solid NFL bet.

With Earl Thomas and Russell Wilson on the mend and available for selection after injury, the Seattle Seahawks are banker bet material, while the Panthers side of the bet is a little tougher particularly during October. But if they click we all know what they can do and they could go some way to putting last year’s disappointments behind them.

The NFL season for 2017/2018 is now just over a fortnight away and on September 7th, the game one fixture between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots will be followed on the Sunday with a bumper day of twelve matches, so plenty for NFL bettors to get stuck into.

The new season ahead has a very open feel to it, so we’ve opted for a double figure priced each-way bet at 18/1 (19.00) at Paddy Power on the Oakland Raiders to cause a surprise by reaching Super Bowl LII which takes place on 4th February 2018 in Minnesota.
Our best NFL bet is all about the New England Patriots winning the AFC group stage, comfortably progressing to the NFL playoffs, while our extra bonus bet is a NFC South and West winners double which pays out at just over 7/2 (4.50) with Coral, giving an interest in two lea
