Liverpool rather summed themselves up at Swansea on Monday night, failing to beat the Premier League’s bottom club just a week after they went toe-to-toe with the leaders, Manchester City and ended their unbeaten run. Their urgency wasn’t there at the Liberty Stadium so neither were their energy and frightening attacking pace. Jurgen Klopp certainly has a point to prove when West Brom come to Anfield in round four of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.
Alan Pardew has finally begun to make an impact at the Hawthorns. When he arrived, the Baggies had not won a game since August and looked dead and buried in terms of Premier League survival. Though they are still struggling now, the outlook is much better and, after winning at Exeter in the last round, they will look to cause an upset here. Liverpool did beat Everton in the last round and they will believe they should progress.

As already mentioned, West Brom are looking likely for relegation right now but they are in much better shape now than they were a few weeks and months ago. Victory over Brighton and a draw at Everton, among other results including a 0-0 draw at Anfield in the Premier League, showed they can compete at that level and anything can happen in a cup tie.

That loss at Swansea saw the end to an 18-match unbeaten run for Liverpool and they will undoubtedly be keen to put that right in this one. Their Champions League hopes are very much alive, though, with Spurs also dropping poinys ay the weekend.
Neither side has any new injury worries, but both managers could look to make changes to their side.
