Liverpool face Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon having recovered from back-to-back defeats to Premier League strugglers Swansea and West Brom. The loss at home to the Baggies saw them exit the FA Cup but they hit back with an emphatic win at Huddersfield on Tuesday night. Spurs are also in much better shape now than they were a few days ago, having beaten Manchester United at Wembley on Wednesday, with a helping hand from Christian Eriksen and one of the quickest goals in the league’s history.
WHEN THE FUN STOPS, STOP!
But the Reds have a really good record in the fixtures at home to their top of the table rivals, as proven by their win over Manchester City last month. Spurs often struggle on the road, having already lost at City, United and Arsenal. It is hard not to favour Liverpool going by the stats, especially with Mohamed Salah firing on all cylinders as he is.
Liverpool saw an 18-match unbeaten run that dated back to the end of October ended at Swansea, but Spurs were the last team to beat them before that, running out 4-1 winners at Wembley. The Reds’ firepower has been significantly weakened by the departures of Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, but the Reds are looking strong overall.

Having fallen behind the Champions League chasing pack by failing to beat Southampton at St Mary’s a fortnight ago, Tottenham recovered somewhat with that win against United. They are now just two points behind both Chelsea and Sunday’s opponents Liverpool.
Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this clash, while Spurs could give a debut to £25million January signing Lucas Moura from PSG.
