Everton vs Manchester City preview, betting tips and prediction: City can take a giant leap towards the Premier League title
Manchester City and BTTS @ 15/8 with Paddy Power
Manchester City are getting closer, and their trip to Everton may be their final hurdle before the showdown with Manchester United that could confirm them as Premier League champions. Two wins will be enough for Pep Guardiola to win his first league title in England and, while United have been on their tail for most of the campaign, months have passed since they felt any sort of threat from them or anyone else in the race for glory. Funnily enough, Everton played a similar role in City’s last title success in 2014; they had to win at Goodison Park to stay ahead of Liverpool going into the final game against West Ham, and they did.

The Toffees have not had the best of seasons, with Ronald Koeman, an old friend and teammate of Guardiola at Barcelona, being sacked and replaced by Sam Allardyce. Relegation felt like a serious possibility at that point, which it isn’t anymore, but Allardyce has found it tough to win over the Everton fans due to his conservative and direct style of football. But Goodison remains a happy place, as it was when they beat City 4-0 on Guardiola’s last visit 18 months ago; it may be a real test for City on Saturday evening, but one they should pass with flying colours.
City have only dropped nine points in the Premier League this season, but two of them were against Everton in August. But they have beaten Chelsea and Arsenal lately, as well as Stoke in their last outing almost three weeks ago.

Everton have endured some tough times, but maintain a good home record, winning their last three with just one defeat in 2018.
Everton have Eliaquim Mangala, Gylfi Sigurdsson and James McCarthy on their injury list, though the former would be unable to face his parent club anyway.
