Newcastle managed to grab a couple of great late deals in the transfer market that makes their squad and first team look a little more threatening. Brazilian winger Kenedy shone on his debut against Burnley on Wednesday night, while goalkeeper Martin Dubravka should come straight in against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon. Islam Slimani, though, is struggling with a thigh strain picked up at Leicester this week.

But they face a Palace side who have only lost twice since November and it is tough to see how they will have the firepower to threaten at Selhurst Park. Scoring goals has been a real issue for Newcastle this season, while Christian Benteke and Wilfred Zaha are looking sharp for Roy Hodgson’s men. Dwight Gayle will be hoping to break his scoring duck against his old club, but we are backing a home win.
Although Palace have gone a long time without many losses, they have drawn a number of games and as such cannot pull away from the relegation trouble quite yet. Wednesday’s draw at West Ham was extremely frustrating in the end, but they have been particularly strong at home, recently ending Manchester City’s record-breaking winning run with a 0-0 draw.

Newcastle have not won at home since beating their next opponents back in October, but they hover above the relegation zone by virtue of impressive away wins at West Ham and Stoke over the festive period. They will need to perform in a similar fashion and hope for more magic from Kenedy here.
Crystal Palace have no fresh injury concerns, and could feature former Newcastle pair Yohan Cabaye and Andros Townsend in their side.
In the likely absence of new boy Slimani, Gayle or Joselu could start up front for the Magpies, who will be without defender Jesus Gamez.
