Manchester United travel to Crystal Palace for a crucial Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park on Monday night. Jose Mourinho’s men took the initiative in the race for second place by beating his former club Chelsea on Sunday, but they must back that up with a win in South London. Palace enjoyed a brilliant few months immediately after Roy Hodgson took over, but trouble has been brewing for a few weeks now, and it is no coincidence that has happened since Wilfred Zaha suffered a knee injury. The Ivory Coast star is the team’s talisman and without him they clearly lack some creativity.

Hodgson will be worried about his side’s fortunes heading into the run-in to the end of the season, especially if Zaha doesn’t recover quickly. Mourinho will see this is an opportunity to grab three crucial points, to maintain their great run of form in the last few weeks. United are not going to overwhelm Palace, but they will prove too much in this encounter.
Palace have not won since January 13, losing to Everton and Tottenham in their last two games. Only goal difference stands between them and the bottom three, and they could be in there by the time this game kicks off, two days after some of their rivals.

United lost their last away game at Newcastle, as well as at Tottenham, but they are in good shape in all competitions, now sitting two points clear of third placed Liverpool.
Zaha continues to be absent for Palace, but no other players are out. United also have a clean bill of health.
