Arsenal will head to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday potentially looking to extend an eleven-game winning run in all competitions. Monday’s 3-1 win at home to Leicester was the latest in a developing pattern under Unai Emery; the Gunners appear to have made a habit of giving up chances and even goals to their opposition, going into the half time break either level or possibly behind and coming on strong in the second half.
That was certainly the case on Monday when, just two minutes after coming off the bench, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the crucial goal before adding another later on. It was the same story against Fulham before the international break, too, with Aubameyang coming off the bench to score twice in a 5-1 win. The Palace game comes after their Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon which, at the time of writing, is yet to kick off.
It is rather ominous for Palace that Arsenal have been so fluid going forward both at home and away. Mesut Özil, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette have all been playing really well recently. Defensively, there are still some issues, and Roy Hodgson‘s men could get some chances if they play direct, particularly through Wilfried Zaha.
But they have not won at Selhurst Park all season, so it is hard to see them stopping and Arsenal side which, despite clearly having a long way to go, are clearly on the up under Emery.
Both Aubameyang and Lacazette have been on fire right now, with up to 30% conversion rate of their chances already this season. Backing them to score is sensible, but because Aubameyang has been starting on the bench recently, we think Lacazette FGS with the UK bookmaker Betfair @ 7/2.
