Both Chelsea and Leicester come into Saturday’s Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge in mixed form. The Blues have been typically functional in the last few weeks, narrowly winning games against the likes of Southampton and Brighton in December. Yet, since October, they have suffered just one defeat, at West Ham. Antonio Conte’s men come into the game off the back of a poor result at Norwich in the FA Cup and face the Gunners in the Carabao Cup semi final first leg at home on Wednesday.

The Blues drew at Carrow Road, just as Leicester did at Fleetwood. An extra game is the last thing either of these sides want, but a replay is on the cards. Recent defeats at Watford and at home to Crystal Palace have set the tone for Claude Puel in recent weeks; his team will work hard, but we think they’ll lose narrowly here.
It had been going well for Puel before the Palace defeat, and his side are still in the top half of the Premier League. A European push is not out of the question, but they will need to improve on their form in the last six games, with only one win in all competitions coming at home to Huddersfield.

Chelsea’s title defence is all but over but they are not out of the race for second, briefly over taking Manchester United over the busy festive period. At the moment, though, they remain third.
Leicester could be without Jamie Vardy, who missed the clash with his former club Fleetwood through injury, while speculation is surrounding Riyad Mahrez’s future. Chelsea, meanwhile, have no fresh injury concerns, with a host of first teamers returning after sitting it out at Norwich.
