It has not been an easy few weeks for Chelsea, but they head into Friday’s FA Cup fifth round tie at home to Hull City with fresh confidence. Even if the Blues have been struggling for form, culminating in losing 7-1 on aggregate to Watford and Bournemouth in the Premier League only last week, their talisman, Eden Hazard, hasn’t. He helped rip through Brighton in a recent win, before doing the same to West Brom in Monday’s 3-0 win. He also netted in the defeat at Watford and in the Carabao Cup semi final loss at Arsenal.

Whether he plays in this game or not, though, Chelsea should prove too strong for Hull. Nigel Adkins’ side are embroiled in a Championship relegation battle despite only losing their Premier League status last season; they have been rocked by this week’s news that Ryan Mason has had to retire after failing to fully recover from a skull fracture suffered at Chelsea last season. Antonio Conte will know the FA Cup is Chelsea’s best hope of silverware, so he’ll ensure progression to the next round.
Chelsea have not been themselves on a consistent basis since the turn of the year, but they will hope the West Brom game can prove a turning point ahead of this game and the Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Hull got their first win since the FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest by beating the same opponents on Saturday, but they still sit outside the relegation zone by one point.
Greg Luer and Abel Hernandez will be missing for Hull, while Conte may start Olivier Giroud despite Alvaro Morata’s return to the bench on Monday.
