Tip: Paris St-Germain Draw No Bet 10/11 with William Hill

The glamour tie of round five takes place at the Emirates this week when Arsenal host French champions Paris Saint-Germain. With both clubs’ passage to the last 16 safely secured, the winner of this encounter will top the group. Arsenal have crashed out in the last 16 in previous seasons to the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona but could potentially avoid those clubs if they manage to defeat PSG. Their first encounter in Paris saw the teams draw 1-1.

PSG were the better side that day and will feel confident that they can beat the Gunners, especially given their stuttering form of late. Arsene Wenger watched his side steal a point from Old Trafford at the weekend when Olivier Giroud nodded in their first shot on target in the dying minutes of the game. His good form could see him start this fixture, although, he is earning a reputation for his super-sub exploits. Edinson Cavani was rested at the weekend.

The Uruguayan has been in magnificent form this season, scoring 15 goals in 15 games in all competitions. The departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave him the opportunity to take the spotlight and he’s grabbed it with both hands. Having scored against Arsenal in their last meeting, their defenders will have to shackle him as well as a cast of supporting attackers like Angel Di Maria.

With Hector Bellerin still injured, Arsenal will be forced to start Carl Jenkinson again. The right-back is undoubtedly the weak link in defence and was an off-form Anthony Martial failed to properly test him on Saturday. Di Maria, Jese Rodriguez and Lucas Moura won’t be so kind.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Xhaka, Elneny, Sanchez, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud

PSG XI: Trapp, Meunier, Kimpembe, Silva, Aurier, Krychowiak, Verratti, Matuidi, Di Maria, Lucas, Cavani
