Manchester United face a tough task at Turf Moor against Burnley on Saturday. The Red Devils have not had it all their own way of late, but some belief they were given a Premier League title race lifeline after neighbours Manchester City lost for the first time this campaign at Liverpool on Sunday. That leaves the gap between them at 12 points, the same number United were behind Newcastle at this stage in 1995/96 before famously being crowned champions.

There are differences between then and now, but if United can get a run together then they will believe. Burnley will provide tough opposition in this game. Although things have not been going quite so well for Sean Dyche’s side in recen weeks, they are still sitting pretty in the table, but Jose Mourinho should come out on top.
Burnley are without a win in eight games in all competitions, but they still sit seventh in the Premier League and have not yet given up hope of a European push. They have already taken points from Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool last season.
As for United, they looked very good against Stoke on Monday, but they have not been nearly as convincing over the last few weeks. They drew 2-2 with Burnley on Boxing Day, recovering from 2-0 down at Old Trafford, but if Chelsea weren;t struggling themselves, they would be under more threat for second place.
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns ahead of this game, with only ex-United goalkeeper Tom Heaton and left-back Stephen Ward set to miss out.
WILLIAM HILL HAVE GOT YOU COVERED
Alexis Sanchez is thought to be close to moving to United, but probably won’t make this game. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not feature and may have played his final game for the club.
