Burnley vs Chelsea preview, betting tips and prediction: Tough task in store for Conte's Blues

It looks likely that Pep Guardiola will win Manager of the Year this season, which he cannot really be begrudged because of the football his Manchester City side have played this season. But Sean Dyche, the Burnley manager, certainly has a case and, all things considered, perhaps he should be the favourite. Given that three of the four FA Cup semi finalists are in the top six, seventh in the Premier League will likely be a European spot for next season. Despite a tiny budget with very few big money additions, Dyche has masterminded a stunning campaign for Burnley. Hard work, organisation and a never-say-die attitude have been the base, and they face a side in Chelsea, where those qualities are being questioned under Antonio Conte, on Wednesday night.

The Italian is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer; he recently admitted he needs to take responsibility for a poor season, which will see them miss out on Champions League football, but he also pointed the finger at his players. It is not the first time the Blues players have been criticised for their attitude, and serious questions have to be asked about the way things are run, but Conte will hope to end the season strongly whether he stays or not. We think this game will be tough, and Burnley are probably the worst team the Blues could face right now.
Going into the weekend’s game at Southampton, Chelsea had just three league wins to their name in 2018, but their comeback at St Mary’s, winning 3-2 from 2-0 down, means they are seven points off the top four and have an outside chance of closing that gap.
