Brazil vs Croatia preview, betting tips and prediction
Can Brazil get a big win at Anfield?
Brazil to win to nil @ 6/5 with Coral
Brazil face Croatia in a friendly match at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they continue their preparations for the World Cup in Russia this summer. The Selecao have one of the best squads in the world and will be well placed to challenge for a record sixth crown. Neymar is fighting fit after a three month layoff for an ankle injury picked up at Paris Saint-Germain this season, while Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has already shown signs that he can be the heir to the great Ronaldo, this tournament’s former record goalscorer, despite his tender age of just 21. They face Serbia, Switzerland and Costa Rica in the group stage, so this game against Croatia is an ideal test.
The Croats are not expected to make many waves in Russia but they will be good to watch, with a lot of talent in their squad. Their midfield is particularly impressive, with Real Madrid pair Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic likely to team up with Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic in the centre of the park. There is enough guile there to beat anyone, but Marcelo Brozovic, the Inter playmaker, will add extra creativity from the bench. Croatia will fancy their chances of getting out of their group, which features Argentina, Nigeria and Iceland, but we are backing Brazil to win this one fairly comfortably.

Neymar and Gabriel Jesus are the obvious goal threats for Brazil on Sunday, but our tip is Roberto Firmino, the Liverpool striker, who will be more than at home on Merseyside on Sunday. He can be found at evens to score anytime or 3/1 to score first; it will also be interesting to see what sort of reception Philippe Coutinho receives on his first Anfield return since securing a move to Barcelona in January. Mario Mandzukic can be found at 3/1 to score anytime for Croatia.
