Barcelona vs Roma preview, betting tips and prediction: Can the Giallorossi cause a huge upset?
Barcelona to win and under 3.5 goals @ 23/20 with Coral
Lionel Messi had never scored against Chelsea in eight previous attempts before Barcelona’s Champions League round of 16 tie with the Blues, in which he scored three over the two games. He, like so many times before, proved the difference, particularly in the second leg when he inspired a 3-0 win at Camp Nou; his impact on young winger Ousmane Dembele, who netted the other that night, was clear, too, as he was constantly guiding the French sensation through the game. Chelsea played well in both games, but never really laid a glove on Barça who, with Messi in full flight, will fancy their chances of lifting a fifth European crown in just over a decade.

Next up on their journey to success are Serie A side Roma; it was a summer of change at the Stadio Olimpico last year, with Luciano Spalletti leaving for Inter and being replaced by Eusebio Di Francesco. Monchi, Sevilla’s ‘transfer guru’ also took up the role of sporting director, too. Overall, it has been a good season, with another top three finish looking likely domestically; an impressive comeback win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the last round has seen them reach this stage but, in truth, they are not likely to pose too many problems to Ernesto Valverde’s men.
Barcelona are yet to be beaten in LaLiga and are closing in on an invincible campaign. They currently sit 15 points clear of eternal rivals Real Madrid, who are third.

Roma, meanwhile, are on a run of three straight wins in Serie A at the time of writing.
Lucas Digne will miss out for Barcelona against his former club, but Sergio Busquets should return from a foot problem in time.
Rick Karsdorp (knee ligaments) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (calf) are unavailable for Roma.
