The chances are that at least one of the teams will be going home after this game, but with 16 of the Euro 2016 24 finalists progressing to the knock-out stage, all the teams are likely to have at least a small hope of extending their stay going into the final round of group matches, even if they lost both of their opening games.
As the final group game for both these teams it could potentially be a little more open than otherwise might have been the case. Even so, neither of these teams is exactly renowned for their potency in front of goal and, at this stage at least, any Romania v Albania free bets might be best directed towards a low goal count and particularly the Under 2.5 goals market. Of course, were one team already eliminated or all but mathematically out of contention and the other still challenging for a place in the knock-out stage, the outlook for goals could change somewhat.
In nine previous meetings Romania has won seven and two have been drawn. However, Albania has managed those two draws in their last three games against the Romanians, so the gap between the teams has clearly narrowed.
The Romania v Albania betting odds are likely to favour the Romanians, but they struggled for goals in qualification and there is little reason to believe that they will find them any easier to come by in France. Albania are similarly lacking in firepower and with both teams being relatively strong defensively, they could easily cancel each other out.
The one player who might be capable of making a difference in this game is Nicușor Stanciu. The Steaua Bucharest midfielder is likely to move for big money this summer and this could be the perfect stage to showcase his skills.
