Wonderkid set to choose Real Madrid over Barcelona in summer deal
Real Madrid have seemingly won the race to sign a Barcelona target ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
Los Blancos organised a medical for Atletico Madrid defender Theo Hernandez, which he reportedly passed, ahead of a move to the Bernabeu this summer.
The defender had a release clause of €24m at Real Madrid’s rivals Atletico and has chosen to leave the club after spending a year on loan at La Liga side Alaves.
Theo subsequently impressed during his time on loan, leading to much speculation over his future and whether he would remain at the Calderon.
Now, the player has committed a footballing sin in choosing to sign for Real Madrid from their rivals Atletico Madrid.
Having triggered the €24m clause in Theo’s contract, all he must do now is agree a deal before his transfer is complete ahead of the summer window.
It is said that the clause in his contract is seen as a bargain price for one of Europe’s best talents at only 19-years-old.
Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to battle it out in La Liga for the title, which could be decided in the next couple of games for either side.
Madrid will also be looking to solidify their European dominance with yet another Champions League this season.
