Aaron Ramsey announced his Juventus pre-contract agreement this week, though it has been well documented for some time. The Welshman will earn a reported £400,000-per-week in Turin and, as well as playing with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, he will be reunited with former teammate at the Emirates Stadium, goalkeeper Wojciech Szcezesny.

Don’t miss a thing and head to a Premier League page!

There is no doubting that Ramsey will be a huge miss for the Gunners and fans won’t be happy to lose him. But a contract such as that and the opportunity to move to such a great club, and challenge for the Champions League title, is clearly hard to turn down.

It became clear that he wouldn’t be renewing his deal, which ran out at the end of the season, at Arsenal w few months ago. Links with Liverpool, Manchester United and other clubs around Europe came to nothing as he prepares to make the huge switch to Max Allegri’s side.

Moving to a new country, with a new language and approach to football means it will be tough for Ramsey in the summer. But he will have a familiar face to help him settle, and Szcezesny has already opened the door to their reunion with a brilliant comment on Ramsey’s Instagram post announcing the deal. He demanded a cut of the deal, presumably because he acted as a middle man.

To his credit, despite not always seeing eye to eye with Arsenal boss Unai Emery, Ramsey has stayed quiet about his future and remained professional.

Fans won’t have to worry about Ramsey dropping his level with his future already sorted, the club are in the race for Champions League qualification and it is Ramsey’s responsibility to help them get there.

In terms of his status as a Gunners legend, he deserves it. Scorer in two separate FA Cup finals and a superb season in 2013/14 have given the fans some good memories in what was a tough era for the club towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s long reign. While first team action might be tough to come by in Turin, he certainly shouldn’t be written off.
