West Ham have set their sights on Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain according to Italian source CalcioMercato with the East London side preparing a massive £58m bid for the former Real Madrid star.
Higuain topped the Serie A goal-scoring charts in 2015/16, his 36-goal tally being the highest in the Italian top tier in over 60 years, and is now being pursued by a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’.
Arsenal continue to track the 28-year-old and one wonders if Slaven Bilic has a hope in hell of luring the lethal forward to West Ham.
Gonzalo Higuain spent seven seasons at the Bernabeu, scoring 121 goals in all competitions, before moving to Naples in the summer of 2013 where he has proven a huge success.
West Ham secured a strong seventh place finish last season and move into their new home on a high and if Bilic can retain top talents like Dimitri Payet then they’ll be looking to push for a top four spot and will have the additional funds accrued from season ticket sales to pump into their transfer budget.
