‘Wenger will be the death of me’: Twitter reacts to sensational Arsenal comeback against BournemouthPublished January 04, 2017
After mounting a hugely impressive comeback from three goals down to claim a point away at Bournemouth, Arsenal’s exploits have once again become the talk of social media, with reaction to the entertaining draw particularly mixed on Twitter.
Trailing 3-0 with just 20 minutes to go at the Vitality Stadium, talisman Alexis Sanchez and substitute Lucas Perez got the visitors back into the game with a quick-fire double.
And after Simon Francis’ controversial red card for the home side, Olivier Giroud struck deep into injury-time to complete the recovery.
After the match, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger praised his side for refusing to give up the ghost.
“It was a physical and mental test – they started much faster but we showed we are mentally strong,” he said.
“At 3-0 down after 70 minutes you’d take a point, but in the end we were frustrated not to win the game.”
But, as ever, some fans were left unhappy with the way their team had defended, and took to social media to voice their concerns.
Here’s the best of Twitter following the thriller.
