It comes as no surprise to see Arsenal fans up in arms wanting manager Arsene Wenger to resign after Thursday night’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
This was Arsenal’s second defeat against City in the space of the week – the first being the Carabao Cup final, which also ended 3-0. However, there was a difference in performance. Arsenal were more expansive last night and the goals conceded were nowhere near as bad as Sunday, but that won’t make this situation any easier for the Gunner supporters.
Wenger’s side was no match for Pep Guardiola’s thrilling group of City players, who are bound to be crowned Premier League champions sooner rather than later. Arsenal have lots of work to do and many feel it needs to be done with a new manager rather than Wenger.
The snowy weather was clearly a factor in the amount of empty seats at the Emirates on Thursday night, however, it is believed a number of Arsenal fans have had enough with the level of mediocrity they’ve been subjected to in recent years.
GRAB THIS FROM WILLIAM HILL!
In other words, enough is enough.
The Arsenal fans have been angry for some time but they’ve now reached boiling point. There’s of course multiple factors behind the club’s shortcomings in recent years but they now want the manager to take full responsibility.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter:
Man City are winning 3-0 and Pep is on the touchline barking orders, meanwhile Wenger is sat there with his arms crossed, please please please either resign tonight or someone in a position of power sack him!

Wenger has become such a disappointment to himself and everyone. Such a shame.

Why wouldn't Arsene Wenger resign? Does he really think he can turn this around?

Wenger should just resign at half time if he had any respect left for the Arsenal fans #WengerOut
