Luis Suarez has developed a reputation for scoring from impossible positions, and today’s Uruguay training session was no different, as the Barcelona star struck home a superb effort from distance.
The impressive feat was made all the more remarkable by the fact that Suarez was playing in goal at the time- catching the rest of his teammates unaware to score from long-range.
After collecting a high-ball above towering Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, the ex-Liverpool man proceeded to send a dipping volley from inside his own area over the head of the opposition keeper and into the net.
Mobbed by the rest of his compatriots, Suarez’s unadulterated joy upon seeing his miraculous effort come off was clear for all to see.
Recently presented with the prestigious Pichichi trophy for topping the scoring charts in LaLiga during the 2015/16 campaign, the Uruguayan has started this season in similarly excellent fashion.
At the time of writing, Suarez has notched 10 goals and 5 assists in just 15 games for the Blaugrana so far in 2016/17, with strikes like the one above confirming his status as one of world football’s most deadly attackers.
