VIDEO: Thomas Muller finds brilliant way to avoid waiting pressPublished January 12, 2017
Thomas Muller has found a unique and hilarious way of getting out of media engagements, with a video of the Bayern Munich star using his passport as a pretend phone sweeping the rounds on social media.
Filmed by German TV channel Sky Sport, the amusing footage shows 27-year-old Muller evading the attention of waiting journalists by using his green German passport as a prop.
As he walks past the waiting cameras, the Die Mannschaft international, a notorious prankster in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, can even be seen grinning about his successful moment of mischief.
A simple trick, but one that paid off for the attacking midfielder, given his clear dislike of media duties.
Things haven’t all been a barrel of laughs for Muller so far this season, though. Usually a regular fixture on the scoresheet, the experienced international’s form in front of goal has slipped in recent months, with a run of just four strikes in 27 games seeing the Bayern stalwart lose his place in the side for the recent visit of Bundesliga title rivals RB Leipzig.
No wonder, then, that he was somewhat reluctant to engage with journalists on camera…
