VIDEO: Thierry Henry admits it would be too much for him to cheer SpursPublished January 04, 2017
Thierry Henry made an amusing confession during his post-match analysis of Bournemouth’s 3-3 draw with Arsenal on Tuesday night. Needing Spurs to beat Chelsea to keep the Blues within reach, he was asked if he would be cheering for Arsenal’s bitter rivals. You know the answer to that question!
Speaking about Chelsea, who have won their last 13 games, Henry said: “They’re going to go again at White Hart Lane without the pressure that everyone wanted – Liverpool and Arsenal to put pressure on them.” Arsenal are now eight points behind Chelsea who have a game in hand on the Gunners.
Spurs can leapfrog Arsenal and Manchester City with a win tonight and maybe that’s what holding Henry back from cheering on Mauricio Pochettino’s team. When asked if he would support their attempts to stop Chelsea, he replied: “I won’t be. That’d be too much for me!”
