Memphis Depay put in a solid performance last night, scoring a brace in Holland’s 3-1 win over Luxembourg.
The Manchester United winger, who has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho this season, was introduced by Holland at half-time as they were locked level at 1-1 in their World Cup Qualifying game.
Depay then scored just 13 minutes after coming on as he headed home from a Daley Blind cross in the 58th minute.
The win was then sealed by Depay with a cracking free-kick late on.
This was Memphis Depay’s first ever brace for the Netherlands senior team and he is the first substitute to score twice in a competitive match for Netherlands since Ruud van Nistelrooy in June 2001 at Estonia.
