VIDEO: The best volley you’ve ever seen? Chilean player scores from incredible distancePublished December 05, 2016
From Eden Hazard’s brilliant break-away strike in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Manchester City, to Alexis Sanchez’s remarkable solo effort against West Ham, there were some truly sublime goals scored over the weekend- but surely none better than this volleyed effort from more than 60 yards by Universidad de Concepcion’s Alejandro Camargo.
With his side 2-1 to the good in their Chilean Primera Division game against O’Higgins, the Argentine midfielder took advantage of a poor goal kick from the opposition keeper to send the stunning volley into the net from long-distance.
The remarkable effort secured 15th place Universidad a vital win, and showcased superb technique from Camargo as he struck the first-time effort back over the goalkeeper’s head from a ridiculous distance.
Invoking memories of Xavi Alonso’s Premier League strike for Liverpool against Newcastle back in September 2016, the goal perhaps surpassed even the current Bayern Munich man’s effort for its sheer audacity and execution.
Simply a must watch, and without doubt the best finish you’ll have seen in quite a while.
