Tottenham set sights on struggling Bundesliga starPublished April 20, 2017
Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a summer swoop for out-of-favour Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa, per The Sun.
Costa, 26, has been at Bayern since 2015 but has only started 17 games for the German champions with boss Carlo Ancelotti preferring to use him as an impact sub.
The Brazilian is growing more frustrated by his situation and has reportedly earmarked the Premier League as his ideal destination.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is often criticised for playing a narrow system at White Hart Lane and could see signing Costa, in a reported £30million deal, as an opportunity to silence his doubters.
The Bayern man was once dubbed the ‘new Ronaldinho’, mainly because they both hailed from Porto Alegre in Brazil and began their careers with Gremio, but he has not yet asserted himself at the very highest level.
It was reported in February that Costs said he was unhappy at the club, where he faces regular competition for places from both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
