Tottenham interested in late swoop for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha
Tottenham Hotspur could make a late January move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha after he returned from African Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast, according to the Daily Star.
Zaha, 24, jetted out to Gabon to represent the country of his birth despite a desire from England boss Gareth Southgate to include him in his plans ahead of the World Cup in Russia next year.
Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the Palace man, who has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting prospects after returning to Selhurst Park from Manchester United in 2015.
Mauricio Pochettino was keen to take the player last summer and the Star claims, via Spanish newspaper MARCA, that the Spurs boss will launch a £25million bid to test the Eagles’ resolve despite previously claiming a “one percent chance” of signing anyone this month.

The South London club would be loathed to lose one of their main assets as they continue to battle Premier League relegation under Sam Allardyce, who replaced the sacked Alan Pardew in December.
