It looks like Theo Walcott is finally set for a breakthrough season at Arsenal, ten years after making his debut for the North London side.
The 27-year-old, is producing some of his best football he has played in his career at the moment, and his double against Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday night, has many Arsenal fans getting rather excited about the England international’s season ahead.
It took Walcott just six minutes to open the scoring as he headed in from Alexis Sanchez’s cutback to hand the Gunners the lead.
The two Arsenal men linked up again as the former Southampton graduate, drilled low into the net to complete a swift team move, and end the tie as a contest.
The result leaves Arsenal top of their group, whilst they are also going steadily in the Premier League, sitting in third place.
Walcott’s recent form is only one of many reasons as to why the Gunners are producing the goods at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped many fans waxing lyrical about the 27-year-old’s recent good form.
After Walcott’s brace, Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to laud the England international as being the next best thing.
Surely we’ve been here before?
