Stoke City Star Tears Into Teammates in Brutal Fashion
Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has launched into an astonishing attack on his teammates, claiming not even Ronaldinho could save the Potters this season.
Shaqiri, a Swiss international, made the shock move to the Bet365 Stadium in 2015 from Inter, six months after playing for Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.
He has never spoken out against Stoke before, but after a terrible season that has seen manager Mark Hughes sacked and replaced by Paul Lambert, and relegation almost become a certainty, he has let loose.
“The feeling that even a Ronaldinho could do little in this team is sobering, he said via Stoke Sentinel.
“From rubbing shoulders with Franck Ribery and Mauro Icardi to Saido Berahino and Peter Crouch (sorry, Crouchy).
“I had to realise that it’s a bit different when you have players like Ribéry and Thiago at Bayern or Icardi and Kovacic at Inter.
“Here at Stoke I can not exert too much influence, simply because there is a lack of quality around me.”
