Spanish giants make Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez their main targetPublished January 11, 2017
Alexis Sanchez has emerged as the main target for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to a report by AS. The Arsenal contract rebel is one of the leading scorers in the Premier League this season, having scored 13 goals. Although he is arguably their best player, the Gunners are in a stand-off with Sanchez due to his contract demands. The Chilean wants to become one of the best-paid players in England.
Atletico are currently serving a transfer ban but if it’s lifted for them to buy in the summer, they’ll move for Sanchez. Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be extremely interested in signing Sanchez. Manchester United will be rooting for Atletico to win that battle. Otherwise, their summer plans will be scuppered.
The main reason Atletico – who have made it to two of the last three Champions League finals – have Sanchez their priority is because they’re anticipating Antoine Griezmann’s departure. The France international is a top target for Jose Mourinho with Saul Niguez being another player of interest to the Red Devils.
