Signing this star is impossible, admits Jose Mourinho
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has poured cold water on the possibility signing Brazilian superstar Neymar by admitting it is impossible to lure him from Barcelona, per Sky.
It is believed the 25-year-old has a £172million buyout clause in his contract at the Camp Nou, and United had reportedly been planning to meet it this summer.
But Mourinho, who is planning on spending heavily again this summer, says no one can expect to sign Neymar because he is too important to Barcelona.
“It’s speculation. I always try to be objective and pragmatic with clubs and to ask them what they can give me. To ask for Neymar is absurd,” he told ESPN Brasil.

“A club like Barcelona can not and will not lose Neymar. Although Messi is still a young player with years ahead of him, he’s almost 30, and Neymar will be the great player of Barcelona post-Messi.
“So much that I think it [trying to sign Neymar] is like trying to break into a safe, impossible.”
United are currently fifth in the Premier League and still battling for Champions League qualification.
