Another transfer saga at the Emirates?
It seems that Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez really isn’t convinced that his future lies in North London.
The 27-year-old has been locked in contract talks with the Gunners over the last few months, but recent reports coming out of the British press suggest the forward could be looking to engineer a move to Manchester City come 2017.
It has been claimed this week that Sanchez is playing hardball with Arsenal with regards to a new contract, demanding an extra £35,000 a week and a relatively modest buy-out clause inserted into any new contract he signs.
The 27-year-old attacker’s current deal expires in 2018 and the Gunners are keen to tie him down to a new one.
During the summer, their had been reported interest in Sanchez, from Italy, with the likes of Juventus and Inter keen on a deal to sign the forward.
But Arsenal refused to entertain any bids for their star player, believing they could tie the player down to a new contract when the new season started.
But now, according to the Express, Manchester City are ready to take advantage of the hesitancy by both sides, and will make a huge money move for Sanchez in January.
Blues boss Pep Guardiola has apparently made the Arsenal forward his number one target in 2017, and will look to make a play to land Sanchez, before, the forward puts pen to paper on a new contract in North London.
Arsenal fans should be worried.
