Former England and Everton boss Sam Allardyce has slammed Manchester United forward Anthony Martial after his performance against Brighton on Sunday.
The Frenchman was unable to have any effect on the game despite being given a rare chance by Jose Mourinho to impress.
Manchester United went on to lose the game 3-2, despite goals from Romelu Lukaku and a Paul Pogba penalty.
The Red Devil’s looked flat in attack and Martial was eventually taken off, which will no doubt make him want to leave the club even more.
The forward was reportedly looking to leave the club in the summer transfer window but Man United were seemingly refusing to let the player game.
Now, former England manager Sam Allardyce has slammed the player, claiming he should be as good as Leroy Sane or Raheem Sterling by now.
“You’d look at Louis van Gaal who brought in Martial and it doesn’t matter who the manager is, Martial isn’t good enough for Manchester United,” he explained on beIN Sports.
“If you want to be super critical and look at the players he’s got. He is not the player they thought they were getting.
“There was a chance where you get a very big young talent for £50million.
“But we are in his third season and he is no better than when he first came. “He should have progressed. He should be as good as Leroy Sane and people like that. That’s not Jose’s fault.”
