Ronaldinho tries to play cupid with Philippe Coutinho and BarcelonaPublished December 27, 2016
Ronaldinho is being a total hype merchant with his latest comments. The Barcelona legend complimented compatriot Philippe Coutinho before trying to play cupid. The Liverpool star has been linked with a move to Spain in recent months and Ronnie is doing his best to ensure it happens.
Coutinho has been in tremendous form this season, scoring five goals and giving five assists in 13 Premier League matches. He signed for Liverpool for just £8.5 million in 2013. If he leaves, the fee could be ten times that amount.
The Sun quoted the all-time great potentially setting up the transfer of next summer. Coutinho has been out with an injury in recent weeks but is expected to return to face Manchester City on New Year’s Eve.
Ronaldinho said: “I hope when he returns from the injury that he will continue the form he has been showing all season with Liverpool. He has been one of the stand-out players in Europe this season – and I know there is a lot of admiration for him at Barcelona. Liverpool will want to keep him, they have built the team around him.
“But when you play at that level then there is always interest.”
