Petr Cech has revealed David Ospina will start for the Gunners against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final this weekend, and that it was always going to be like that.
Many people wondered if Arsene Wenger would opt for his first choice keeper for such a big final – but it seems that the Frenchman will stick with his cup keeper, and Cech has no issues with that.
The former Chelsea stopper is no stranger to winning the League Cup, having done so on many occasions with the Blues, but is yet to win it with Arsenal – and if they do manage to beat runaway league leaders City this weekend, he will be cheering the side on from the bench.
Cech made it very clear that while he will be there and wants to support the team, he won’t be playing, and thinks that Ospina can do a great job in order to win the only domestic trophy Wenger hasn’t lifted during his many years as Arsenal manager.

The Express report Cech said: “At the start it was clear that it was going to be like that.
“I will be there with the team supporting but I don’t expect to play.
“It is always hard to watch any game from the bench or even from the stand if you are not selected.
“As a player, you always want to be involved.
“But obviously you are in a professional club where there are 25 top players and the manager always makes his choices for the game and you need to accept that.”
