Real Madrid Star Begs Mesut Ozil to Reject Barcelona Amid January Transfer Speculation
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has ‘begged’ Arsenal star Mesut Ozil to resist temptation and reject Barcelona in January as he nears the end of his Gunners contract.
The Germany international is free to discuss a move away from the Emirates Stadium in January, with his deal expiring in the summer. The Blaugrana and Manchester United are reportedly keen.
But having played for Real Madrid for three years, between 2010 and 2013, any move to the Camp Nou would be controversial. Los Blancos captain Ramos, who he had a particularly close bond with, is evidently against the idea of facing his friend in one of the world’s bitterest rivalries.
Should he move back to LaLiga, he will make the opposite switch to both Luis Figo and Ronaldo, who joined Real after spells at Barcelona. Neither are overly popular in Catalonia now, and it would likely be the same story for Ozil in Madrid.
WILLIAM HILL OFFER!
Interestingly, Barcelona made a bid for another former Real star, Angel Di Maria in the summer.
