Real Madrid star 'angry and upset' fuelling reports of a Premier League switch
Gareth Bale was furious following Real Madrid’s win over APOEL in the Champions League, sparking further rumours of an exit from the club.
There would be no shortage of takers for Bale, with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United leading the race given they’re well known admirers of the player – and it seems that Bale was both angry with himself and the situation in the dressing room.
Diario Gol report he was muttering to himself and looked unhappy – and the crowd’s treatment of him cannot have helped matters either, with the fans annoyed at his injuries and lack of consistency since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bale has of course spoken about the links between himself and Manchester United during the summer, and opened up the door once again in terms of a future move.
“Well there’s an argument for that,” Bale told the Daily Mail, “but I think the main thing, when you look back on your career, is that you look at your trophies.
“In the end that’s probably the most important thing.”
Mourinho may well move for the player come January in a shocking swoop – and one that would rock world football – or even wait until the summer, especially if his side can win the Premier League, and show Bale that he has a real chance of winning top trophies should he leave Real Madrid and join Mourinho’s revolution at United.
