Real Madrid lead race to sign £80m striker: Man United target promises he'll play for La Liga giants
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has sparked something of a bidding war with recent comments that leave his Westfalenstadion future up in the air according to The Sun.
The Gabon international is a veritable goal-machine in the Bundesliga and is attracting interest from all quarters and it’s against this back-drop that the 27-year-old has recent stated;
“I don’t know if I will stay. I just think about playing good football right now. I want to give my best and win titles. I just think about the sport and nothing else.”
And on the prospect of moving to the Bernabeu specifically the former Saint-Etienne man went on to announce;
“Real Madrid? There is no agreement but I promised my grandfather I would play there one day.”
“Why wouldn’t I want to discover new things? As I’ve said several times, I’d like to play in Spain and have good weather for once in my life!”
Though Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Dortmund star it would appear Aubameyang’s apparent longing for good weather may see such a move ruled out.
The £80m rated forward would be a more effective focal point than Karim Benzema in a front-three that would presumably have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on either wing.
Aubameyang has scored 98 goals in 160 appearance for Borussia Dortmund since moving to Germany back in July 2013 and has seen Bayern Munich dominate the domestic scene.
This term the speedy front-man has netted 15 goals in 12 domestic starts and is the top scorer in Bundesliga despite the fact that his side are some way off the title pace, sitting back in sixth spot in the table.
