Cristiano Ronaldo once again stole the show in the Champions League and proved why people call it a competition made for him against Juventus in the first leg of Real Madrid’s quarter-final tie.

He tore the Italian side to shreds and managed to net his 14th Champions League goal of the season and the second of those goals was a stunning bicycle kick that had the Juventus fans on their feet clapping him and world football stunned into shock.

His own manager, who of course knows a thing or two about scoring goals like that in the Champions League was asked about which of them scored the better goal – and he had a coy answer for the press.

Zidane said:“Oh mine! Definitely mine,

“Cristiano Ronaldo is different. He’s a different player to everyone else and he always has this desire to do something extraordinary in the Champions League, he never rests on his laurels.

“His overhead kick was remarkable, yet he missed two much easier chances. That’s football.”

In the other tie of the round, Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester City face off, and it will be interesting for former Manchester United player Ronaldo to see who comes out on top, given the chance of facing the winner come the semi-finals.
