PSG star wants SHOCK Manchester City move next summer
Manchester City could be about to strengthen their stunning attacking line up even further, with reports suggesting PSG striker Edinson Cavani is keen on a move to the current Premier League leaders.
Pep Guardiola has built one of the scariest teams in the Premier League. So far, after eight games, they top the table having dropped just two points. Their stunning 7-2 win over Stoke on Saturday has taken their goal tally to 29 in the league, with the likes of Kevin de Bruyne supplying Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. Both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane have played crucial roles, too.
It is hard to know how they could improve such options, but one way may have just appeared. Cavani has earmarked City as a possible destination as he looks to leave Paris. The arrival of Neymar has unsettled the Uruguayan, who has waited patiently to be the French side’s main man, having joined the year after Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
A now infamous incident over a penalty between Cavani and Neymar a few weeks ago has magnified the issues, and Cavani is said to be far from happy with how the situation was dealt with. The club reportedly offered him a huge bonus if he offers up set piece taking duties to the new star in town.
Reports in Spanish publication Don Balon, which have been picked up by the Manchester Evening News, suggest the deal could go ahead. There had been a lot of talk last season that Guardiola was looking to sell Aguero because of the emergence of Jesus. But the former Barcelona boss has got the pair playing together in quite amazing fashion. It remains to be seen whether Guardiola is still intent on selling Aguero, who has been out with a rib injury which he sustained in a car accident a few weeks ago.
There are few better goalscorers around better than Cavani, but City may just have two on current form. The PSG man has never felt truly appreciated in Ligue 1 and seems to be growing tired of the situation, but it is doubtful moving to City would be worth his while because it is tough to see him as being the main man ahead of the likes of Jesus and Aguero, especially with them banging the goals in so readily right now.
