PSG midfielder admits interest in joining European heavyweights
Ahead of their Champions League meeting this week, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti says he would be open to joining Barcelona.
The Italy international is one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe having excelled since arriving in Ligue 1 from Pescara, having been signed by former boss Carlo Ancelotti in 2012.
Now a mainstay at PSG, the 24-year-old says he is happy at the Parc des Princes, but admits the idea of playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta interests him.

“Even though I am currently in a good project and I feel at home, any player would play for Barcelona,” Verratti told AS.
“They are still the best team in the world. They have the three best players in attack, and [Andres] Iniesta too. Iniesta, [Lionel] Messi and Neymar create a move in a second.”
After being compared to Barça legend Xavi, Veratti said he was flattered.
“It is a pleasure to be compared to a player like Xavi,” he said.
“That a team like Barcelona thinks of you is a source of pride and forces you to work harder.
“It is a great squad but I think of the present, not the future.”
