PSG eyeing Lukaku mega-bidPublished November 08, 2016
Everton’s resolve to keep Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park could be tested in January, with reports suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating a bid for the Belgian’s services during the upcoming transfer window.
Buoyed by Ronald Koeman’s arrival on Merseyside, the 23-year-old has struck seven goals in just 10 Premier League appearances so far this season, alerting the Ligue 1 side’s scouts to his impressive form.
The Daily Mirror writes that with PSG struggling to cope in the absence of former star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic- now plying his trade at Manchester United- the Parc des Princes based outfit are on the lookout for a long-term replacement.
WOOOW! I've just seen that we are linked with Lukaku... in addition not next summer but in the winter market..— PSG Insider (@PSG_insider) November 8, 2016
Up to now, Everton have been unwilling to sell their prized asset though and set a valuation in excess of £65 million over the summer to deter potential suitors.
As Koeman and his team would be loath to lose someone of Lukaku’s obvious calibre in half-way through the season, it would take a monumental bid from the French champions to convince the Blues to part ways with the in-form Belgian.
