Premier League Star Agrees To Shock Manchester United Move

Manchester United’s desire to sign a new striker this summer have been widely documented. But the latest name linked will come as a huge surprise, and if the Red Devils can pull it off it would certainly send reverberations around the Premier League.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who finished joint-top scorer in the Premier League last season alongside Liverpool pair Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, has agreed to join United according to reports in Italy.

It had been suggested the Gunners are willing to sell Aubameyang, who recently turned 30, in order to sanction a deal to lure Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to the Emirates Stadium. Palace are said to want £80million for their star man, a fee of which United would receive 25% after a clause they put into the contract when selling Zaha back to the South Londoners.

This is a deal that certainly seems unlikely, given Arsenal’s dependence on Aubameyang since his £60million move from Borussia Dortmund. United are also unlikely to target a player or that age, given it is no secret that boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær is targeting younger players this summer, having already signed Daniel James from Swansea City and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.

There has been speculation linking Romelu Lukaku with an Old Trafford exit this summer. Inter have a long-term interest in the Belgian and continue to monitor the situation. Perhaps a Lukaku sale could kick off a domino effect. United do have a history of signing Arsenal stars, having done so with Robin Van Persie in 2012 before going on to win the title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season a year later.

Other reported targets include Sevilla’s Wissam Ben-Yedder and Inter’s Mauro Icardi, though the latter was put forward as a potential makeweight in any Lukaku deal, while United are said to only want a cash only deal.
