Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerged as the club’s fastest player, and he celebrated that fact before teasing new boy Matteo Guendouzi over his performance.
Aubameyang, a £60million January signing, clocked a top speed of 10.01, while operating at 97% of his capacity. Guendouzi, meanwhile, came in third last with 8.97. Hector Bellerin was the Gabon striker’s closest rival, but Aubameyang edged him out.
But Guendouzi, who has impressed in his early performances in Unai Emery’s midfield, was the target for Aubameyang’s jibes. He wrote on Instagram: “How are you 93%? You can still make progress?”
On the pitch, it has been a tough start for Emery, who has lost his first two Premier league games. But he will he expected to get a first win this weekend, when West Ham, and former Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere, come to town.
Aubameyang, in particular, will be expected to improve his performance levels after missing two golden opportunities in the defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
