Phil Neville’s Son Harvey has signed for Manchester United on his 16th birthday, following in his father’s footsteps.
Neville Snr, who is currently working at the World Cup alongside the BBC as well as being the England women’s national team manager, played for Manchester United from youth level before joining Everton in 2005.
He shared a picture of his son holding the shirt on his Instagram page , and said that he was “proud” of him and that he should “follow his dreams”.
Phil’s brother Gary, Harvey’s uncle, has also sent his congratulations. He is a former product of the Valencia youth academy, where his father was an assistant to Nuno Esperito Santo and then Gary later on.
The midfielder will be hoping to emulate the Nevilles, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham in making the first team step up from youth level.
